The Customer

As an independent charity, York Archaeological Trust is dedicated to investigating the past for the benefit of present communities and future generations. Set up in 1972 to help with the preservation of the huge number of archaeological deposits within the historic city of York, it is now one of the UK’s biggest archaeological organisations with offices in York, Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham.

With their ongoing commitment to community involvement, education and training in archaeology, York Archaeological Trust continues to present its archaeological discoveries to the public using innovative and dynamic methods. Their work has resulted in the creation of the JORVIK Viking Centre, DIG, several successful touring exhibitions and the opening of the Henry VII and Richard III Experiences.

The Challenge

While York Archaeological Trust’s head office is based in York, there are three other offices located in Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham. This meant that YAT needed a supplier that could install solutions in six different locations across the country and after installation, continue to provide national service support.

YAT wanted seven colour A3 Multifunctional Devices (MFDs) for six of their locations in York, Glasgow and Nottingham. Needing a product they could trust, they specifically wanted a market-leading product. However, they wanted it supplied by a local company in York who could also offer a national engineering service to all of their locations as well as a managed print service that offered remote monitoring and automatic consumables replacements and servicing as well as a central IT portal so that all devices could be managed from the York head office.
